About Us

Hello,

In 2015 after three years running the shop out of a space in An Talla Solais, Ullapool Visual Arts, Sara Garnett and Jan Breckenridge moved to new premises at 21 West Argyle Street, Ullapool.

New location, so new name! Market Street Arts became Ceàrd – a Gaelic word meaning ”maker” “smith” or “artisan”.

At the beginning of 2020 (just before the pandemic struck!) Sara ‘bought out’ Jan’s share in the business and has continued running Ceàrd solo – but with the invaluable help of husband Pete!

Ceàrd now represents over 60 artists and makers who live Scotland. 90% of the work offered is made in Ullapool, Wester Ross, Inverness or Sutherland.

This website is simple, as the main focus of our trade is shop sales, but hopefully it offers enough information for you to find what you need. Please check our Facebook or Instagram for updates.

I hope you find your way here,

Sara.

”I am incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such a wealth of talent. Everything I sell is beautifully hand crafted, and everything I sell I love! I count my makers amongst my friends, and I love sharing their stories and selling their work – I love what I do!”
